It Is Time to Rethink Everything

Submitted by E on April 9, 2009 – 11:28 pmNo Comment

If you are wondering what this blog is all about, this post should help clarify this for you.  I try to spell out some basic governing wisdom to consider before participating here and try to fill out who we are, what questions and assumptions we are trying to address here and the various ways to participate.

Some Words of Wisdom to Consider albert-einstein

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

“He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.”

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”

“In the middle of difficulity lies opportunity.”

“Any power must be an enemy of mankind which enslaves the individual by terror and force, whether it arises under the Fascist or the Communist flag. All that is valuable in human society depends upon the opportunity for development accorded to the individual.”

- All the above from Albert Einstein

“There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—that principle is contempt prior to investigation.”

- Herbert Spenser/William Paley

What Is The Purpose of This Web Site?

Its becoming more apparent everyday that everything is changing.  We may wish and hope for what we had in the past, but those days are gone forever.  Change can be scary but it can also provide incredible opportunity.

There is no room in the Kingdom of God for fear.  However, God expects us to respond responsibly in anticipation of what lies ahead.  If Noah hadn’t taken God’s warnings of an upcoming flood seriously, he would not have survived the flood.  This concept applies to us today.  Fortunately, God does speak to His people and will provide wisdom and direction if we seek it with an open mind and heart.  We can accomplish much together with God’s grace, love and guidance.

The mission of this community blog is to provide a platform for awakening, education, support and action in response to God’s invitation to join Him in the building of the Kingdom of God.

Faith: What is God saying to His church regarding future trends?  Where are we in relation to end-times prophecy?  How can we effectively prepare and position ourselves individually and corporately to be most effective moving forward?

Politics: How do our current financial, political, media, religious and infrastructure systems actually work?  What aspects of these systems function under the control of Babylon and how should we position ourselves practically to better align ourselves with Kingdom values?  How do we as monarchists participate as agents of truth, justice and peace in this world?

Living: Is our current model of living sustainable and can we do life better?  Who benefits from and who is hurt by the status quo?  How can we advocate for and empower the oppressed and marginalized?  How can we work together to achieve greater freedom and live healthier, more satisfying lives?

Business: How did God intend business to function?  How can we rediscover profitable purpose driven business?  How has the military industrial complex and banking complex shaped our world?  How have large corporations affected local communities around the world and should we be doing business with them?

Investing: Is shipping our capital off to Wall Street really the best way to invest?  How does God’s economy work and what are His plans for our capital?  How can we redirect our investing back into our local communities?  Given future trends, how do we protect ourselves from financial crises and profit from change?

Media & Entertainment: Who controls mass media and what is their agenda?  Where can we find alternative sources of news?  How can we use communication technology to bring awareness, address root problems, facilitate conversation and further the Kingdom of God?

changeThere is far too much happening in the world today for any one person to tackle it all alone.   We each have something very valuable to offer but we need others to be whole.  In an ideal world, this process would be accomplished primarily face to face but my hope is that this web site will help us facilitate conversations around various themes related to rethinking life, provide a means to archive important informational resources, connect individuals with others of similar interests and facilitate cross pollination between various groups and specializations.

How This Site Is Structured

I have broken the site up into categories along the major sections specified above.  Each section will contain numerous sub-categories.

I will also try to identify introductory/summary posts to various themes we identify together.  These posts will fall under the “featured” category that rotate through on the home page.

Resource sites will be posted under the top level navigation item “Resources.”

We will run ads on this site to help offset the costs of hosting, maintaining and developing the site.  We do not necessarily condone the businesses that advertise here but I feel we can maintain an un-compromised conversation while being partially funded by those we are calling into question.

How to Participate:

You can visit, read and comment here all you like.  If you have a desire to contribute posts to the site, please contact us and we will discuss adding you as a contributor.  Please try to keep the conversation within the parameters and mission of the site.  If you feel a theme/category is missing, please communicate this to us.

We do reserve the right to edit and delete posts.

Ground Rules for Participation:

Hopefully these things are obvious but I am stating them anyway:

  1. Always show respect
  2. Keep a humble attitude
  3. Be patient with others
  4. Work with, not against others
  5. Seek God’s perspective always
  6. Its OK to disagree but don’t be a jerk
  7. If you post an article, video, etc from another site, please explain what the resource contains, how it applies to our conversation and what you like and/or dislike about it.
