Contributor Guidelines

OK, here are some guidelines for contributors to this web site.

Regarding Posts:

  • Include at least one image that represents your post.  The software will automatically create a thumbnail using the first image in your post to display with the article throughout the site.
  • If you have a long post, split the post using the “Insert More tag”.  This will keep the home page more manageable.
  • Please mark your posts with appropriate tags and 1 category.  Do not select Featured or Headline.  If you any questions about how to categorize a post or have ideas for new categories or tags, please contact site administration to discuss.
  • If you can find some interactive media to go with your post, please use it.  When inserting Youtube or Google Video, please use the little buttons provided for inserting these objects.  All you will need is the URL of video.  This makes it much easier to include these items and allows for proper formatting.
  • Try to give credit to sources of information.
  • Please do your best to format your posts reasonably well.  If you need help with this, please feel free to contact the site administrator.  Formatting these things can be tricky.

Regarding Blog Topics:

  • Please keep the purpose of the site in mind when choosing topics to cover.  If content is way off target, it could be marked private to reduce clutter.
  • The goal is to address practical questions as much as possible and to move towards practical actions steps.  See the Headline post for topics and questions to consider.

Regarding Comments:

  • If you want a little image to show up next to your name on comments, create an account with www.gravatar.com and upload an image there.  They site will use your email to pull your image from their server.
  • Please take time to interact with content on the blog.  It helps all contributors to see others responding to their posts and it is important to try to learn from one another.
  • We recommend not using your full name on comments.  Choose a nickname for yourself.
